ISISA supports independent scholarly communication and open-access research across island studies.

Island Studies Journal

Island Studies Journal (ISJ) is the official journal if ISISA and, founded in 2006, is the oldest peer reviewed journal dedicated to international island studies. An early adopter of non-fee charging open access publishing, ISJ has published over 500 papers across a wide range of social science, humanities, and environmental science disciplines. The journal has played an important role in guiding the development of island studies as a field and in publishing research emerging from ISISA conferences and activities. Editor-in-Chief: Ping Su.

ISISA Research Archive

The ISISA Research Archive includes freely accessible island studies publications sponsored by ISISA and Member Contributions submitted by ISISA members. As the Research Archive grows, it will come to encompass journal articles, book chapters, books, working papers, and reports.
